Private support helps bring researchers together to study mental health
The Kellner Center for Neurogenomics, Behavior, and Society is pioneering a new approach to understanding mental health by bringing together experts in genomics, neuroscience, social science, and social work. As the first named center of its kind in the United States, the Kellner Center is advancing research into how genes, behavior, and social environments interact to shape mental health, creating new opportunities to better understand—and ultimately treat—complex mental illnesses.
Researchers are uncovering new insights into how the brain responds to stress and why resilience differs from person to person, while fostering collaborations that connect scientific discovery with real-world solutions. Even in this early stage, The Kellner Center has launched a lunchtime lab series which has sparked interdisciplinary connections, ignited new research ideas, and paved the way for future seed funding opportunities
