The Chancellor’s Circle reinforces the important role played by the Annual Fund in our University’s ongoing strength and success. By honoring donors who give $2,500 or more in a single fiscal year (July 1 – June 30), the Chancellor’s Circle encourages leadership-level annual support.
The society provides recognition of the University's most generous annual supporters, and is based on household cumulative giving across all departments, programs, colleges, and campuses. Matching gifts are counted in the cumulative annual total for recognition.
There are four levels of recognition:
:: Platinum – $25,000 or more
:: Gold – $10,000-$24,999
:: Silver – $5,000-$9,999
:: Bronze – $2,500-$4,999
The importance of annual giving – at every level
Your gift is an opportunity to impact the University in both an immediate and lasting manner. The Illinois Annual Fund is not simply a "rainy day" fund: Annual gifts support extraordinary opportunities as well as help meet general needs. More than just providing immediately accessible funds, giving to the Annual Fund enables you to develop your own personal giving history – a sustained and meaningful contribution to the University that is renewed year after year.
State funding now covers less than one-fourth of our operating budget, making private support through annual gifts – in any amount – more critical than ever. Annual giving is our primary source of unrestricted, discretionary gift dollars for the campus and its units.
Recognition for those supporting several areas of the University
Many of our contributors at the Chancellor’s Circle level support more than one campus, college, or program. When you participate in the Chancellor’s Circle, we total your giving across the many interests you support in order to fully acknowledge your generosity to the University.
Matching gifts
